THE WORD
In the beginning was the Word …
What does it mean that Jesus Christ is The Word?
John tells us that He was with God from the beginning. He was there when God first spoke the words, “Let there be light.” Not only was He with God, He was co-creator. John tells us that He created all things and without Him nothing would have been made.
Throughout the Bible we learn of the importance of not just understanding that Jesus is the Word, but knowing Him as The Word. As we come to know Him more and more each day, we allow Him to infuse our hearts with His Word and to direct our steps along His pathway.
Praise Him this week as The Word. Open His Word and seek to know Him more.
Sunday Supplication
Jesus, I praise You this week as The Word who is, who was, and who always will be. You are the great “I AM” and The Word who became flesh and came to earth to live among us. Speak to my heart this week as The Word of life and light. AMEN! SO BE IT!
Monday Manna
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:1,14
Tuesday Treasure
Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love. By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
Psalm 33:1-9
Wednesday Wisdom
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:10-11
Thursday Truth
Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you.
