A GOD OF HOPE
Hope!
The dictionary defines it as a feeling that what is desired can be had; a reasonable confidence. But the Greek word for hope describes it as more than a feeling. It is an expectation of obtaining what we desire.
Hebrews 6:19 tells us:
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
Isn’t that a beautiful image? God as our Hope is an anchor for our soul. Our hope is secured through Jesus Christ. It is steadfast and unwavering because it is fortified on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ.
Does that mean we’ll never feel hopeless in the midst of troubles and struggles? If we base our hope on our feelings, we are prone to take our eyes off our God of Hope and focus instead on the circumstances around us.
This week, I challenge you to set your heart and mind on the God of Hope. Allow Him to be the first and secure anchor for your soul regardless of where you may be in the journey of life.
Praise Him as the God of Hope!

Sunday Supplication
God of Hope, I praise You this week as the one who is the steadfast and secure anchor for my soul. If I’m tempted to waver in my hope and confidence, speak to my heart the assurance that You are the Hope on which everything I trust and believe is guaranteed. You are the God of Hope. AMEN! SO BE IT!
Monday Manna
Although our sins testify against us, do something, LORD, for the sake of your name. For we have often rebelled; we have sinned against you. You who are the hope of Israel, its Savior in times of distress, why are you like a stranger in the land, like a traveler who stays only a night? Why are you like a man taken by surprise, like a warrior powerless to save? You are among us, LORD, and we bear your name; do not forsake us!
Jeremiah 14:7-9
Tuesday Treasure
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
Wednesday Wisdom
LORD, you are the hope of Israel; all who forsake you will be put to shame. Those who turn away from you will be written in the dust because they have forsaken the LORD, the spring of living water.
Jeremiah 17:13
Thursday Truth
Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
Romans 8:23-25
Friday Fact
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:3-6
